farm and village offers
life-sharing opportunities
for people with mental
disabilities. The client
recognized the need to
accommodate an aging
resident population and
initiated work on a village
Master Plan. Our work
involved establishing an
environmental land ethic,
improvements to vehicular,
pedestrian, and bicycle
circulation systems, the
layout of new buildings,
provisions for annual
fundraising events,
educational and
directional signage,
memorials, and ecologically
sensitive technologies
such as photovoltaic
panels, porous paving,
progressive planting and
land management
strategies, and the use
of sustainable building
materials.
